Footy legend Paul Gallen has laughed off rumours he charged his former NRL teammates $10 to attend barbecues at his house, cheekily declaring he would actually ask for $50 per player. It was in response to a wild allegation from Sonny Bill Williams, with the high-profile pair to settle their differences in the ring on July 16 in Sydney. Williams, a retired cross-code footy superstar, also accused Sharks great Gallen of dodging drug testers during his career at an explosive press conference last month.

For Steve Clarke and his players, it'll be the first of two friendlies, with a visit to Liechtenstein to come on Monday night. With the World Cup qualifying campaign coming sharply into view in September, Clarke will be looking to experiment with a few players and assess his options throughout his squad.

Prosecutors in the sexual and physical assault case against Dimitri Payet have requested for the complaint to be dismissed, reports in Brazil claim. The former West Ham and France star stands accused of 'physical and psychological violence' towards his former 'mistress', Brazilian lawyer Larissa Natalya Ferrari, who was allegedly forced to drink her own urine and lick the floor during a turbulent seven-month affair. Last month, Brazilian outlet G1 claimed to have obtained a document with details of the case in which the lawyer attested to suffering from borderline personality disorder, believing the former Rio de Janeiro-based Vasco da Gama star took advantage of her condition.
