After theories about a clone attending the award show circulated, drag artist Alexis Stone added fuel to the fire by sharing a social media post suggesting he impersonatedThe Maskstar at the awards.

"Alexis Stone as Jim Carrey in Paris," wrote the makeup artist, best known for transforming himself into various celebrities.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Spiegel also made claims about Carrey possibly undergoing cosmetic surgery to alter his appearance.

"These treatments are amazing when done correctly but his injector gave him Botox more suitable for a woman's face leading to oddly arched eyebrows," he told theDaily Mail.

The surgeon claimed the actor had may have had a "poorly done facelift" and also had an "unnatural pull in his cheek," possibly caused by "threading."

Sources previously claimed the actor had been "joking" about money problems when he sold his LA home last year and began living in a waterfront property in Maui.

Carrey also spoke about living an "isolated" life in the past.

"I spend a lot of time by myself but I like being by myself, so it's OK," he reportedly said in 2018. "That might be strange to some people, but I enjoy it."

The raging theories about Carrey's attendance at the César Awards forced Gregory Caulier, the general delegate of the French award show, to confirm that the actor was "extremely touched by the Academy's invitation" and had been planning his visit for a while.

It took "eight months of ongoing, constructive discussions," Caulier toldVariety.

"He worked on his speech in French for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words," he said.

Caulier noted that the comedian traveled to the award show with his partner, his daughter, his grandson, his longtime publicist, 12 close friends, and family members.

While addressing the actor's physical appearance, Caulier said it's a "non-issue" for him.

"Just remember his generosity, his kindness, his benevolence, his elegance," he added.

No. 1 Duke takes outright ACC crown by blasting NC State

Cameron Boozer scored 26 points and No. 1 Duke won its final road game of the season by drilling North Carolina State 93-64 to claim the outright Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championship Monday night at Raleigh, N.C.

Field Level Media

Duke (28-2, 16-1 ACC) had wrapped up the top seed for the ACC tournament with Saturday's romp past then-No. 11 Virginia and now the Blue Devils have added to that.

Dame Sarr poured in 16 points to go with eight rebounds, Isaiah Evans notched 12 points and Patrick Ngongba II provided 11 points for the Blue Devils, who shot 32 for 58 (55.2%) from the field. Boozer, who made eight of 10 shots from the field, also pulled in nine rebounds.

Darrion Williams provided 17 points and Quadir Copeland had 11 points for NC State (19-11, 10-7), which has lost three games in a row and five of its last six. The Wolfpack were considered a team safely in place for an NCAA Tournament bid just a couple of weeks ago, but that status is sliding in the wrong direction.

The Blue Devils were efficient enough in the first half to prevent the home crowd from roaring consistently as NC State was seeking its second late-season triumph against a nationally ranked neighboring school after toppling North Carolina last month

For Duke, it was an ideal tune-up for Saturday night's rematch with rival North Carolina, which handed the Blue Devils their only ACC defeat.

Duke was so crisp that it collected 21 assists on 32 baskets, though it was a pedestrian 18 for 27 on free throws. Caleb Foster provided seven assists. The Blue Devils were charged with seven turnovers.

NC State shot 35.4% from the floor.

The Blue Devils finished with 11 baskets from 3-point range, while the Wolfpack went 7 for 29 from beyond the arc. Williams was 3 for 11 on 3s.

Duke built a 47-30 halftime lead. The margin grew to 62-36 in the first five minutes of the second half.

FX's limited series documents the romance between Schlossberg's late uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr., and Carolyn Bessette before the couple died in a plane crash on July 16, 1999.

"Well, if you want to know someone who's never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy," Schlossberg quickly responded when asked about it during an interview withCBS Sunday Morning's Mo Rocca this week. "I would just want people who do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, and that's a capital F for fiction. The guy knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."

"I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he's making to some of the causes that John championed throughout his life," Schlossberg continued. "Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK library to help keep President Kennedy's memory alive, but he's not. He's making money. This is not a documentary. And I'll leave it at that."

Back in June, Schlossberg, the son of JFK Jr.'s sister Caroline Kennedy, slammed the series, which debuted Feb. 12. At the time, he said the Kennedy family had not been consulted on the project, and he considered the series a way of profiting off his late uncle "in a grotesque way."

Rocca asked if there was something about this particular show that bothered Schlossberg, since the Kennedys have been depicted countless times on TV, in movies, and in books.

"I think in the last year, two years, three years," Schlossberg answered, "partly because of [Health Secretary] RFK Jr., but also partly because Donald Trump has used JFK as sort of a human punching bag, both by renaming the Kennedy Center after himself, by doing a false reinvestigation into the assassination, and dismantling all the programs that he fought for."

Schlossberg, who's running for Congress in New York's 12th district, said the timing of the series bothers him.

"There's a lot of misinformation now and iconography being used about the Kennedy family, my family, at a time when we really can't afford to confuse people," Schlossberg said. "We really need to take every breath that we have to try to make things better. So, if Ryan Murphy really cares so much about the Kennedy family, my uncle John, maybe he would try to do something about getting Trump out of power."

Entertainment Weeklyhas reached out to reps for Murphy and the show.

Murphy has previously saidLove Storyis "very sympathetic" to the family.

College baseball notebook: No-hitter after perfect game in softball makes one-of-a-kind day for Elon

TheElon Phoenixpulled off a rare double when the baseball team's Aidan Stieglitz combined with two relievers for a no-hitter shortly after the softball team's Anna Dew pitched a perfect game.

Saturday's gems put the 7,000-student private school in North Carolina in the spotlight as stat geeks pored through record books to see if or when a school had ever had two pitching performances of such magnitude occur on the same day. No one has come up with the answer, thoughESPN reportedit definitely hasn't happened in the past three years.

"I was primarily a pitcher in college myself, so I can appreciate the effort," said athletic director Jennifer Strawley, who played softball at Penn in the 1990s. "It doesn't happen every day that you see a perfect game or a no-hitter and to have both on the same day. You also recognize it's a total team effort and to get to that place, there are plays made behind them that led to the pitchers being able to enjoy that moment."

Dew struck out six and threw just 79 pitches in an 8-0 win over Charleston Southern that ended after six innings because of the run rule. Dew's perfect game was Elon's first since 2022 and the season highlight for a team out to a 4-14 start after winning the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament and qualifying for an NCAA regional last season.

Stieglitz, a freshman making his first start, carried a perfect game into the eighth inning in a 3-0 win over Fairfield. He issued a two-out walk for Fairfield's only baserunner. Mike Staiano got the final out of the eighth and RJ Latkowski pitched a clean ninth to finish Elon's first no-hitter since 2017.

Strawley said she is on hand for most baseball and softball games but was out of town with the men's and women's basketball teams. She said she watched the perfect game and no-hitter on her phone.

"It's just a really special moment for the student-athletes, for our coaches and our institution as a whole to have something like two unbelievable performances in the same day lead to a little bit of publicity for us," she said.

Former Raptor Jontay Porter, who was banned from NBA for gambling, to play in independent league

SEATTLE (AP) — Former Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter, who was banned for life from the NBA in 2024after a league probe found he disclosed confidential information to sports bettors and wagered on games, even betting on the Raptors to lose, is planning to play professional basketball again.

Associated Press

Porter has signed with the Seattle Superhawks, a member of the independent United States Basketball League. The USBL was originally formed in 1985, ceased operations in 2008 and announced its return in November.

Porter, who was denied a request to be allowed to resume his basketball career in Greece in 2024 while awaiting sentencing for his role in thebetting scandalthat got him banned from the league, will have the chance to play again when the Superhawks begin their season at home on Saturday. In a statement shared with The Associated Press, the USBL said it believes in second chances, and that the Superhawks are confident in Porter's sincerity.

"While Jontay fully acknowledges the consequences of his actions, he has demonstrated genuine remorse and a strong commitment to personal growth," the statement said. "The USBL and the Superhawks are united in offering him the chance to continue his basketball journey, both as an athlete and as an example of how redemption can take shape through accountability and hard work."

Porter pleaded guilty in July 2024 in federal court in Brooklyn to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, a felony that carries up to 20 years in prison. He acknowledged that he agreed to withdraw early from games so that co-conspirators could win bets on his performance.

Porter was on a two-way contract at the time of his violations, which meant he could bounce back and forth between the Raptors and their G League affiliate. His salary was $410,000, and a standard NBA contract would have been more than $2 million. Inpleading guilty, Porter acknowledged wrongdoing, saying he did it "to get out from under large gambling debts."

"I know what I did was wrong, unlawful, and I am deeply sorry," Porter said at the time.

Prosecutors estimated his sentence at a range from just under three and a half years in prison to a little over four years.

Porter averaged 4.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 26 games in the 2023-24 season for Toronto. He also played in 11 games for the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2020-21 season.
